The Ferry Building Gallery at 1414 Argyle Ave, West Vancouver is pleased to present City in Flux: Work in Progress, an exhibition that showcases photography by artist Carolina de la Cajiga.
This exhibition and special programming are presented in conjunction with the Capture Photography Festival.
The expected growth of our city makes for a carefully orchestrated project.
The available land is limited by water and mountains -our fixed boundaries.
While the issue has serious repercussions affecting everyone who lives here and those who wish to, the artist approaches this subject with whimsy.
De la Cajiga is free to do what architects and developers can only dream of doing.
She bends engineers’ protocols and planners’ minds to construct new urban environments.
Her photography and imagination allow her to move and reshape buildings.
Carolina de la Cajiga has been producing art in a variety of media for over 30 years. Her forte is experimentation.
Her art is a balance between reality and imagination.
An illusionist and an interpreter, she transforms reality to produce artwork that shows the tension between intellect and intuition, enjoyment and surprise.
Her passion lies in the creation of artwork with visual and social impact.
